I also remind you to continue working on building your responsibility trait we have been working on this grading period. Remember to think before you speak and act. You are responsible for you and only you. Continue to make good choices! A few quotes to help you think about being a responsible jr. high student:
- “The time is always right to do what is right” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
- “You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.” – Abraham Lincoln
- “Mistakes are always forgivable is one has the courage to admit them.” – Bruce Lee
What will your 'famous' quote be this year?
The week ahead in math:
6th: we are going to do some dividing decimals by whole numbers and decimals by decimals. We have learned a new way to divide and we'll be putting it to work this week.
7th: we are going to look at subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers. We'll also put them all together and solve order of operations problems. We'll begin looking at more word problems as the week progresses.
8th: it's time to look at scientific notation and put the exponents to work. We'll be looking at writing and evaluating algebraic expressions.
The 8th graders will be taking a field trip this week on Thursday to the Construction Expo. We will learn about the trades and what it takes to get into those jobs. This will be a great trip for them to learn about careers. Look for pictures to come next week from our trip.
Have a great week!
