All of the classes continue to work on explaining their work. It is very important they express what they did and WHY they are doing the math.
6th Grade Math- We enter the world of integers this week. We'll be looking at positive and negative numbers, absolute value, and graphing on the coordinate plane. In addition, the students will be adding postives and negatives. This can be a challenging unit for some but we'll be practicing to help them be successful.
7th Grade Math- It's time for the 7th graders to enter the world of fractions, or rational numbers. This is usually a challenging unit for most kids. We'll be identifying GCF, LCM, simplifying fractions, and graphing them on number lines as well. They will also be looking for fractions in the real world setting and how they are used.
8th Grade Math- They will be performing all operations with rational numbers. This includes +, - decimals & fractions. In addition, they will be comparing rational vs. irrational numbers. Finally, the 8th graders will end the week with their second math test covering rational numbers.
Have a great week!
