You can have a great week with the PAWS Laws!
6th Math: We are continuing to work on integers operations. Last week we focused 2 days on adding integers. This week it's time to subtract for a few days and then multiply and divide. By the end of the week the 6th graders should be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers. They will also know the rules necessary to find the correct sign on their answers.
7th Math: Monday they will finish up their transformation quizzes and gear up for area/perimeter of polygons. They will start with rectangles and squares before moving to triangles and trapezoids. Then it will be time to identify the characteristics of quadrilaterals and the 6 types of triangles.
8th Math: They are moving forward with more equation work. They will start the week writing equations from word problems- 1 and 2 step. Then move into simplifying expressions by combining like terms. Finally, they will be solving multi-step equations (3 or more steps) by the end of the week.
All math classes will work on word problems. These are a big part of the new standards and I want to continue to expose them to a variety of problems and allow them opportunities to solve them in many different ways as well.
Have a great week!
Work hard!
