6th math- The students are finishing up work with the integers and coordinate plane unit. They have worked hard learning new rules to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers. They have also learned how to graph on the coordinate plane as well as find points on the plane. The next chapter will take a look at algebra.
7th math: This week we look at the types of triangles and classify them based on angles and sides. They will also find missing angles of a triangle using simple subtraction as well as some more complicated algebra.
8th math: The 8th graders are working on more multi-step equations. This week we look at variables on both sides of the equal sign. They will determine which variable to eliminate first before solving a 1 or 2 step equation. Plus, they are starting a Thanksgiving Dinner project. They are asked to invite family and friends to a Thanksgiving feast. Planning the party is the biggest part of the project. They will have to determine serving sizes and the cost of the food they will provide at the party. Should make for an interesting feast!
Keep working hard and do your homework for the week!
Have a great week!
