The jr. high will be getting into the Olympic spirit this week too. We have some fun events planned to them to participate and try their skill or luck. It should be a great week of fun and competition.
6th Math: With the inequalities unit behind us, it's time for them to enter the world of number theory and fractions. This can be an intimidating unit but we'll do our best to lower the stress fractions tend to bring to the students. We are starting off with learning divisibility rules, factoring, prime/composites, and greatest common factors.
7th Math: They also finished the inequality unit and will be entering the statistics unit. They will be creating and analyzing graphs- bar, box whisker, line. They will also be collecting data to find mean, median, mode, and range.
8th Math: the 8th graders are finishing up inequalities with a test before starting linear equations. This is a brand new skill for them and it will be a challenge. It is important for them to be at school everyday so they can learn the unit while in class because it will be difficult to catch up and comprehend what is happening in the class. We will also be looking calculating slope from 2 points and identifying slope from a given line.
Have a good week and think spring!
