It's a new year and with that comes a lot of changes. I'm sure you all read about the changes made with the painted walls, new gym paintings on the walls, scoreboard, outside sign, and the Chromebooks. The kids are super excited to get their hands on these mini computers. Our goal is to get them more involved with technology and use them for learning. Come by the open house September 8 to see how they are using these new devices. I'll post more about these later in the year.
This year I am trying a new way to stay connected. I will always connect with email and a phone call. But this program allows for text messages. It is called Remind. Visit the site and check it out. Below are the directions to send me a text for each grade. When you do so, please identify yourself (Ex. Hi- I'm Sally and I'm Mary's mom in 6th grade.) This is so I can save you as a contact and will be able to place you with your son/daughter.
Remind Information:
6th Grade:
To receive messages via text, text @mrquine6 to 81010. You can optout of messages at anytime by replying, 'unsubscribe @mrquine6'. Trouble using 81010? Try texting @mrquine6 to (708) 856-8574 instead.
7th Grade:

Also new this year at PHS is the Character Counts program. The students are learning the character pledge and the 6 pillars that go along with showing good character.
Trustworthiness
Respect
Responsibility
Fairness
Caring
Citizenship
I encourage all of you to ask your students about these pillars and the pledge. Please practice these traits at home as well to help us build outstanding citizens here at PHS.
Welcome back! Let's have a great year Panthers!
